Canon SX50, macro mode.

Download the grassy thing image to see how many spiders and insects are in there!

I do wonder what the neighbors are thinking when they see me shooting stuff like this :) Has it happened to you? Post a shot and story here!

Good shots of a nut, if I want to take a picture of a nut I stand in front of the mirror and shoot away. As long as you brought it up, usually when I go outside with my camera my neighbors go inside.

It's tough when even the cats look at you like this

Thank you all for taking the time to view and comment. I really appreciate it.

Great fun, tramsey, thank you for posting - so far I haven't seen neighbors fleeing in terror, so maybe all is well here :)

merrytexan - motes of bugs, I like it :)

Cam - Very creative description!

Nice batch, Linda. Third shot's the charm, really nice.

The neighbors are all are well aware I'm a few sandwiches short of a picnic. Even without a camera in hand. And since my wife's somewhat culinarily challenged, the Fire Department and police are down here pretty regularly investigating all the smoke billowing from our house--the kitchen in particular. Mostly they just shake their heads and write up their reports, along with some tsk tsk tsking.

Oh, and one of our utility poles caught fire last summer as well, occasioning yet another visit from the FD, cops, and Nstar (the local power company) as well. More reports, more head shaking and more tsk tsk tsking.

So people wave to us, but then seem to hurry inside their own homes.

: )

Thanks for the visit and the great chuckles, Randy! Your "Few sandwiches short of a picnic" reminded me of a conversation I had on UHH, I think to member in Australia, about similar sayings my grandmother had. Turns out there are comparable phrases world-wide!

Thanks for the ID! A couple of Novembers ago, I got a shot of it when leaves were all still on, dark red, but we had just had a snowfall.

I appreciate your viewing and commenting!

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it lensbaby. I went back a couple of hours later and took another shot - you can barely see anything with the naked eye, really amazing!
