How about a thread for only those that come straight out of the camera?
No post processing here!
Surely that would sharpen our vision and skills.

For the folks shooting RAW that would be kind of like hanging a negative up for viewing. :-D

Would that also include no cropping, straightening, nor in-camera processing such as color saturation, grey scale/sepia, or sharpening?

Here's one:
Nikon N90s, AF 50mm f/1.8 Nikkor, Kodak Tri-X Pan 400. Scanned from the negative; I processed the film. Note the ceramic cow at the end of the fan's pull-cord.

I guess you could past a text dump of the data.

Now that I really think about it, the film was processed outside the camera, so I should have scanned a frame of undeveloped film.

OP: laugh - it's all in good fun.

Why not? I'll play

Just a shot I took as I was walking into our room that looked better than anything outside

Most of the time I end taking lots of shots with the intention of not doing a thing to them. It doesn't always work out, but if I end up doing something to them, I put that in the comments.

This one was a very nice quiet evening, I liked the stillness of the water.

I just shot this on Saturday while I was on the highway. It was irresistible so I pulled over and got this. As requested.. no processing whatsoever. Straight out of the camera.

Good Idea for a thread....

I have been in contest mode for the better part of the last year - I had a mind-set that if the pic wasn't good enough for a contest - ie No post processing - then it wasn't a good pic - but what I have found is that is unrealistic. Some of the photos on this site are absolutely stunning - PP or not. I was putting too much pressure on myself - plus I don't have a good PP program at the moment - I am using ACDC for Pentax....A program that came with my Point and Shoot about 5 years ago....

Here is one of my favorites......

Right! I can't attach a photo from my iPad as it does not yet implement a Browse to attach function.
Thanks for reminding me. I'll send one from my desktop when I getup.

I would guess that HDR merging is out of question too. Except I don't know how to get all the details of a highly contrasted image with just one shot. Do you have any not PP that fits the question. I,m not being argumenitive. it's just that a finished photograph is something a photographer has created to his or her perfection. If PP was used to create that perfection then it's part of the picture taking process. Much the same as what the camera might do internally to reproduce what you are creating.

HDR merge, 3 photos in PSP x3

Right! Alas and alack!

The Nikon ACRprogram includes a 'camera profile' function that applies your specific camera's jpg algorithm to the raw image. The result is as though the shot came right from the camera
I presume that requires that you shot in the p, s, a, or m modes, not any Scene modes. Truth be told, I had not thought of this.

I guess a solution would to shoot in raw+jpg or in jpg alone.

Do you think that would be manageable

Not quite sure what that intails. I have a lot of input I can make to my Canon to adjust the the picture in-camera. Mostly I shoot in Natural and or in RAW. I select the best and compose them in canon PPD and PSPx3. Works for me but everyone has their own technique that works for them.
