And our teachers complain when they have more than a dozen kids in class. What...no computers, gym, cafeteria? How can they learn anything. Great insight into China...thanks for sharing. ;-)

Great shots. Children are children wherever you go. You captured it so well in #2 and #3.

I was surprised that the Chinese government had no problem letting us see the school.

I am pleased you enjoyed your visit. We like visitors to our country and try to please. I spent 5 years working in Edinburgh many years ago. Haven't been back in years.

I found the people to be very friendly and charming. However, when we went to a Scottish dinner and show, I didn't have the courage to try the haggis !

Haggis is really nice, but if you know the traditional recipe then maybe not. There is vegetarian haggis these days, it is as tasty as the real thing!
In general we are a friendly people. The myths of the tight-fisted Scot was perpetrated by the Vaudeville comedians Will Fife and Harry Lauder, both Scots. For the sake of outsiders, we try to pretend it's true.
Do you know the difference between a Scotsman and a coconut.
You can get a drink out of a coconut!

. Good one

Our hotel was at the bottom of the Royal Mile. It was across the street from the Parliament and a block from Holyroodhouse.
We entered Scotland at Gretna Green, north through Lockerbie and saw a great deal of the country south of Edinburgh.

I used to have an office in the beautiful building that was demolished to make way for the Parliament building. this parallel to High Street at the bottom

The picture predates my era - just!

Best I could do.
