it works for tv connections run that to an A B switch and feed that thru a Dazzle cable back to the pc she assures that it will work if she is wrong I'm going to hurt her
That camera has an HDMI output. This will go directly into any HD TV with HDMI input.
It's going to take a special cable and software to get the digital signal from the camera into a PC but I'm not sure which to recommend.
There are a number of ways to shoot "tethered" and I think you can do so from Lightroom. This tends to use a USB cable between computer and camera but the good news is you can not only see the imags on a laptop while you shoot but even control the camera from the computer. I shoot Nikon so I'm not sure what the best canon solution is but there's a great free app for Macs that controls Nikon DSLRs. even let's you set up time lapse.
You might also consider using an eye-fi card that'll let you transmit pictures to a computer wirelessly. No need to worry about a cable at all.

We do this in our studio. To be sure, it beats trying to look at your images on the camera's LCD....and the older I get the harder it is.
There are two ways that I know of..
Tethered
You will need a usb cable.....get a long one to link from your camera to your laptop. We use Lightroom and under "FILE", you the shoot "TETHERED CAPTURE" option. If you do not have lightroom, check out
http://www.sofortbildapp.com/ it's a free application for MACs. It is my understanding that all new Canon software has the option of shooting tethered. We do have two Canon 1ds Mark III but have never looked at their software.
Wireless
We rarely do tethered, don't like the cable restriction. OnOne software has a software program you can download, cheap. Then there is an OnOne application for your IPAD/Iphone you can download free. From your IPAD/Iphone you can adjust your camera and fire your camera. After capture, you can view your image on your IPAD. Your IPAD/Iphone is on your network and it is a network transfer. If you have clients coming into your studio....and you are shooting their children (really anyone) they can view the images on their IPAD/Iphone with a simple free APP.
We also use Capture One by Phase One. It works exactly the same. We tested the two for speed and....it's hard to tell. Both work pretty much the same....I favor OnOne.
Personally, I would not consider using a HDMI and TV.
Canon has this ability with the included USB cable and the Canon Utility Software.
