for me, more contrast would make it pop.
Cute photo, it just doesn't grab your attention, the grays are all too close in tone.

it is what it is a friendly snap for the albim , and fo the memories . we could go on critiquing every picture picture we see that way , but there is a time and place for that and this is not one of them . go to the photo contest and pick five which you think will be the five top ones . pick another which you think will get no points . I'm supprised that some get no points , that means that the person who put them there does not vote for them . maybe the putter is not allowed to vote , or there would no total losers ?

Yes that would have been good, didn't even think about that.

Thanks bkyser, I am still learning how to do black and whites, I just converted this over from a color photo in Picasa, think I used the filtered black and white. But yes more contrast would have been better. Thanks.

Thank for the comment Bram boy, I usually try and enter all the photo contests, but this time I did not have anyone with a beard or mustache to photograph and remembered I had this one. I am actually surprised it got any votes but it did. I did notice some people added flowers and goats which I guess went along with the title. But this shot could have been better. Thank you

Thanks, I am not sure what a Youseff Karsh is. Will have to look it up.

I just looked up a website called "The Greatest Portraits ever taken by Yousef Karshed" what amazing talent this man had, I really like the one he took of Ernest Hemmingway. Wow I need to look at more of his work and maybe add one of my books to my growing photography library. I am surprised I have never heard of him myself, thanks for telling me about Mr Karshed.
