I've got so much to do and look up and learn because of the number of projects before me.
I was hoping someone had experience in 3 D sbs video technology and could shave a lot of searches by naming a free soft ware program for actually pasting the two videos together.
This means you should know something about the difference between full and half screen 3d sbs video.
I am not without lots of high definition side by side footage created by using two matching DSLR's
I can run these videos simultaneously on a pair of monitors and achieve the desired result on a larger than life format

Wow thanks I'll check it out
do you focus on same spot with both cameras. it can be done one camera. shoot one then shift weight about 3 in. shooting same spot. then combine them. better have some glasses.

No, I meant after the videos are shot. but thanks.
This thing kind of sent me on a Google chase.
I ended up in never land and I got to cook dinner 8-) I'll narrow my search later if know body has a direct link and I forgot to say its two rebel t3's :-) seems most talk about great big new cameras :-o like a 7 million D
I've not tried it, but I've read that Sony's two Vegas products can do it. More likely in the pro version.
Sony pushed 3D pretty hard to sell TVs and their creative software division played along.
I've also read that Premier Pro can do it. I can tell you for sure that Premier Elements won't.
This is interesting because I'm going to Sony for detected video cameras the DSLR's are not up to the task.
I need to be able to get two that match and keep my canons as well. $$$
JR1 was having a problem adding chapters/scenes (Vegas) I don't think he does 3 D but after I get the footage side by side I can work in inside my movie maker like a wmv.:-)

You might want to look at Cyberlink's Power Director 12 Ultima, it does several types of 3D.
