hi all;
I wish to become a better "picture taker". I don't want to call myself a photographer until I have a better understanding of the art....
At the present time I own a Kodak Z950 point and shoot camera. I have taken a billion pics with it, and I really like it.
I know, in order to take better pictures I need to get an SLR camera. However, the DSLR cameras are a bit too pricey for me at this time. I have found what I believe to be pretty good deals on film SLR cameras on Ebay. Can anyone give me pointers on what I need to look for in a film SLR?

Welcome, look at some of the ones I posted. These were taken
with a Nikon 12 MP, point and shoot. They take marvelous pix.
Go to Walmart or Best Buy and find one that feels comfortable.
I came to SWNM in June 2005. Check out my lineup of shots
taken in that time period. I use the "auto mode" on some and
just use "scene" on others. You have a gift, use it. If you follow
the "rule of thirds", etc., enjoy it, which ever way you go.

Do the best with what you got. If money is no problem. then
get the best you can research about.

Welcome to the UH Hookedupin....nice camera btw. I somtimes shot with my z981....and you'll find alot of people keep em close at hand :) Maybe post a shot or 2 when you can...most of all....learn and have some fun :lol:

Hi 2005.... I recently picked up off of ebay a Canon Rebel model T2 w/a 28/90 Canon lens (film camera) for a paltry sum of 47 bucks.... This perticular model is the LAST film camera Canon made... You cannot even buy that lens for that price... Takes excellant pictures.... Don't know whats listed right now, and that perticular camera probaably dosen't show up too often.... That camera I believe is an '06 model..================================
