On an otherwise ho-hum trip to Floresville, TX ("Peanut Capitol of the World", don't you know), we were treated to this family of black-bellied whistling ducks crossing the street in front of us. By the time we pulled over, they seemed to be trying to find a way to get through a fence into someone's back yard. This was my very first outing with the new Nikon 520P bridge camera, so the photos are nothing to brag about, but I was so glad I decided to take it along at the last minute. Just a really cute family and parents who didn't "duck" their responsibility. There were at least 12 ducklings.
Hmmm. Can't get through here.
Dad takes off with some of the ducklings...
...while Mom waits for some stragglers.

Cute. I don't always take me own advice; but it is great to always have a camera along just in case.
