Don't see too many eagles in southwest mi., but this one is 10 miles from home. Has 2 young ones in nest. Shot with E510 with 70-300 mm lens handheld leaning against tree.

I can't get enough t eagles. Beautifal animals. One of the only specis that mates for life and the male assists in raising the young. I love the nest shot. where in sw Mich are you? I am origionaly from Big Rapids now in florida

Just north of GR--Rockford. Guess they stay in nest for 3 years, then leave.

Hmmmm I wonder which cost the most. Crisis indeed.
These are really nice. We do see many eagles here in Maine, but not so easy to photograph, for they are always on the move. My husband and I hike Maines mountains. We seldom see any wildlife.

I was lucky to find them in their nest. One young one can just be seen in the shadow to the left of the tree.

Very nice photos, well done. There are actually two chicks in the photo. In the bottom photo, the one you mentioned and one just to the left of the parent but lower in the nest.
