Why are so many UHH members "in hiding"???

One thing I always wonder about is why do so many of you say you are "in hiding" instead of just saying where you are?

Probably for the same reason they guard their SS#'s. Also
'in hiding' is the default setting when no location is selected.

For me it was only because I was too lazy to update my profile. "In hiding" is the location default.

Have you ever thought that they might be in "Witness Protection" or the IRS or FBI is looking for them? From what some members have said here, maybe even the Secret Service is looking for them. LOL. For the rest of our "In Hiding" members, they just like to keep their location or home state incognito so they don't embarrass themselves. If you've read some of the controversy in the "Chit-Chat" section you'll understand their hesitancy in giving their location. Others are just lazy.

Been asked many times, when I ask one of the famous five has a go asking "why" I need to know.
The reason is that when someone asks a question, if you know where they are, even the country, you can perhaps point them in the direction of a shop, club, etc

That's one thing that has always baffled me, some people just don't want other people to know what City, State or even what Country they live in.

and some people have their User ID as "User ID" AND location "In hiding" because they like to post "snarky" comments and don't want to give any hints as to who they are or where they may be.

It's just that people don't bother to fill out their profiles, and then their location shows up as "in hiding". Most probably don't even notice it.

I didn't know that I can list my location. But what is wrong just asking me where I live?
