Son of a gun, I think JR1 is right. That fox does seem to read better left to right!

I like both. No preference. They are both very good closeups of a quick and elusive critter!

Welcome to UHH, devildoc. Hope you have fun here! I like the mirror image better. I remember learning years ago that the western world, those who read from left to right, have brains that seem to prefer that orientation :)

I like foxes no matter which way they face....;)

This one is obviously in the high heat of summer, his coat will fill out as it gets colder. I think I like #1 direction the best.
