I took this picture several years ago. I sat on the back deck and waited for hours. I appreciate all your pictures on this site, especially the animals and birds in action it takes a lot of patience to get the right short. Please C&C

I really like this shot. Seems to be a lot of red in the photo or I may not have finished my 1st cup of coffee yet this morning. Either way its always a treasure to capture nature in it's element. Hope to see more. :)

I like the shot. A little to much red, the cardinal kinda gets lost. Usually not a fan of selective coloring, but making everything else B+W might be an alternative here. Also, maybe a little crop. Take out some of the left so the bird isn't centered.

I didn't even see the bird at first, and was wondering what you photgraphing. Too bad you couldn't have zoomed in much closer so the Cardinal became the main subject. He's lost in the leaves. At least you have Cardinals to shot, more than I do.

I agree this would be lovely with selective coloring. Cardinals are so special. I just saw my first one in person a week ago when I was in Hawaii. Beautiful!

Photo very busy...took a few seconds to see cardinal. Too much red but all in all a nice photo. Off center photos create more interest. Such photos cause the eye to wander around the rest of the photo. Agree with renomike...it would have been better to zoom in closer to the bird .

Thank You, for your comments. It took 4 hours sitting in the same spot to get this picture also the camera was less than$100.00 with not many features. I've also wanted to see Hawaii, I've been to most states and everyone has its beauty.

One can get descent shots with any camera . Remember it is you who takes the photo and not the camera. You do not need an expensive camera to get good photos. We all have a tendency to over work photos because the means are there. If you feel the need for a more advanced camera save up for it and see if I am right? You seem to have the right stuff...patience ,so let us see more photos.

Thank you,for your input, I have many good photos with even a cheaper camera I know I overdid the touch ups on the print. I use to have a 35mm Minolta SLR, it had many options I don't it have now. I'll kept saving.

I understand that. I sat all morning waiting for the cardinal in Hawaii, because I knew that my friend had a pair who live in his yard. I was lucky he sat on the tiki torch, so I was able to get a pretty good shot.
