Shadow

These are just quick, candid snaps from my Christmas party. Camera was on full auto with flash. Several have a shadow. I think either my hair or my finger got in front of the flash. What do you think? And no feedback is needed on the pics. I KNOW that aren't that good!

Yup looks like a finger crossed over the flash.

Yes, I go for the camera strap, I have a canon EOS5D and that darned strap constantly gets in the way somehow, especially when shooting downwards!

I didn't think of the strap, but I don't think that was it. I did not have the camera around my neck, and the strap was hanging down. When I went and looked at all of the pictures, the ones I took quickly with the camera not right up to my eye don't have the shadow.

What are your camera settings? You can get this if the shutter is too fast. It looks like you are out of sync with your flash!!! A friend of mine called me as she was shooting a basketball game and said she was haveng trouble, only half the picture was exposed properly and the other half was underexposed. I asked her to check her settings and she said that her shutter speed was at 1/500 sec. I told her to slow dowd the shutter so she would get in sync with the flash. She called me back and said that fixed her problem. It looks like half your pic is underexposed. If you are using a point and shoot then you may have covered part of the flash.
