Not at all sure just what this is but it was almost 3 inches long in its entirety.
The third shot is what I assume to be her egg sack. It was hanging just a few inches away from the main web.
I know they are all not "tack" sharp as it was very hard to get too and I just don't have a good prime lens for macro.
The first two are lightly cropped.
D90 with 58mm of tubes and a 70-210 Nikon lens at 105mm, ISO 200 and diffused flash at 1/2 power.
Her back
Her Belly
Egg sack?
Some sort of orb weaver I believe, don't know which one but nice shots.
 Yellow garden spider - Argiope aurantia
Female Yellow & Black Orb Weaver spider (Argiope aurantia).
Where did you see her? Are you able to monitor egg sac?

We are in northern South Carolina. I should be able to keep an eye on the egg sac. It will be interesting to see if I can catch them coming out. I will try any way. Thanks for the reply.
I've been shooting the same genus spider here in North Georgia, but no egg sac. My problem in that the wav she is on the web,she is facing a hill & I can't get any dorsal shots of her....That said, I just found another Saddleback Caterpillar this morning...A big one at that...
