I downloaded the Elements10 free trial..but not having any idea what I am doing it's kind of overwhelming.
here is an idea. Do Bracket with 3 or 5 pictures that way u can select the best one and it moves the dial for you, so to speak. U can also do some neat HDR work afterwords also
I will have to try using the brackets.
I heard picnik is awesome for free editing also

Picnik & Picasa work together... I can switch to Picnik automatically when I am in Picasa.

I like the interest the car gives to the 2nd picture. Using PSE I lightened the shadows a little, toned down the headlights, and really made the sunset more dramatic by altering the reds and yellows. See if you like it.
I agree this now is a finished product

I gathered from your comments that you didn't have any experience with what post processing could do (for better or worse) to your photos. So that's why I showed you one simple processing job. Some people are totally put off by any post processing, others, like me, love it. It's totally your choice. But no offense was meant.
None taken. I look forward to seeing what different editing processes do to my pictures. I will be taking a class next semester on photography and photoshop..I see some of the photos on here and am just in awe of some of the techniques and those that aren't touched up...it's really incredible
Picasa and Picnik do work well in tandem, Picnik especially good for framing and signing your photos. I don't have Photoshop, but I do have Photoshop Elements 6 and also am trying to find my way around on it.
Oh and Picasa is very good at dating and putting your photos in a place you can find them, that feature is great. I have a big problem with organizing them, I have them by date so still going through them to find things, but I have 33,000 photos in Picasa
