I hope you guys like them. I'm trying my hand a converting RAW to B&W with CS6. Also got my hands on a few new lenses and a D7100 (love it!) . Second photo is just a self shot, not much effort there. I was pleased with how I adjusted colors/black and white as well as my shadow and highlight adjustments.
Could definitely use the critique!
Thanks guys, can't wait to be home!

Hi Sammy,

First off, thanks for your service and B safe.

I like your B & W, thats all I used to shoot during Nam with my Nikon F. Shoot all the pictures you can, they will be with you for a life time. I also like your #2 photo with your background arangement.

Hope you get home soon. My son just got back from where you are now.

The first one is a classic. The second one is warm and personal. They're both wonderful photographs with a dramatic and emotional message. Let me add my thanks to you and your comrades for your service and wish you all a safe return.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments and well wishes. I wish I could respond to everyone individually but time's limited. Hopefully I'll get more up soon! Still going for black and white.

Well thank you and your son for your service. A lot of the photos from your era's war are where I'm drawing most of my inspiration from for my own. I would be very interested to see any you may have and be willing to share!

I must be one of the few people on the planet that does not know what that gesture means today. When I was a kid it meant "go to hell". what does it mean now? I do like the 1st photo. well done.
