A permit for panhandling? N.J. town wants to register beggars

In one New Jersey township, asking a stranger to spare a dime is fine – so long
as you can produce the proper paperwork.
A new law passed in Middle Township will soon require beggars to obtain permits
in an effort to prevent aggressive panhandling and to limit the areas where they
can ask for money.
The free permit, which requires applicants to produce a photo ID and agree to a
warrant check, prevents beggars from hanging out in public places, stopping
vehicles or loitering near ATMs or bus stops.Leusner stressed that the law won’t
penalize those who simply ask for a handout – a right he said is protected under
the First Amendment – just those who do so in an aggressive and threatening manner.A permit for panhandling? N.J. town wants to register beggars

Let's see if I got this straight. It's okay to require a beggar to get a photo ID. But it's not okay to require voters to have a photo ID because not everyone (like beggars) has the resources to get a photo ID. And this makes sense how? Let's see if I got this straight. i refuse to give any money to beggars..this country has enough resources to help the needy without having them out begging in the street..i pay taxes on my money ..these bums do not...times square is beginning to look like a ghetto..namely the jerks that are dressed up like cartoon characters..just another form of aggressive begging in my opinion..i have seen tourists badgered into giving more money to other characters that jump into the picture with their children and follow them in the street trying to shame them into giving more dollars...i do not feel that begging is any more protected under whatever amendment it is that gives them the right than it is for my right to tell them to get the hell out of my face...after all i'm protected under free speech..

You might be surprised at what a lot of those "panhandlers" make in a day.

I think they should be required to get a PayPal account.

Then all they need to do is make a sign with their email address.

But you repeat yourself. But you repeat yourself.

The Republican Party lost the popular vote in five of the last six elections. They cannot win a national election with the candidates and policies they have.

Their response is to attack minority voters to keep them from the polls.

In the last election, this backfired on them, but they keep trying.

They spend more time in women's underwear than the women who own it.

Independent women are about 20% of the electorate.

They persistently attack latino voters--18% of the electorate--and black--12% of the electorate.

Thats fifty per cent of the electorate!

This is another reason their approval rate in yesterdays WSJ poll was down to 24%.

With republican success like this, Dems have nothing to worry about.

Also,

I have to show a picture ID (driver's license or passport) to rent a motel room. I do no have to show i.d. to vote!

The U.S. Mall is closed to American Citizens. But we let illegal aliens hold a protest!

Voter fraud (which is allegedly behind desire for photo ID) is non-existant, and would have to reach 2-3% to have any effect on elections.

Why would any individual want to bother to vote illegally?

It just doesn't happen.

of course, if you don't check for it, there's no way of knowing if your statement is true.

Again, most countries have Voter ID laws, the American people support voter ID laws... Our president just got done showing us that he does not give a shit about the American people but is courting illegal voters... The major opposition to voter id laws is simply that the illegal vote in this country goes to democrats. Period... And no I am not going to prove it so don't bother asking, people can make up their own minds as to why dems fight sensible voter laws for themselves.

With no photo ID how do you know voter fraud is non-existent?
