Obamacare ... how to pay the monthly premiums?

I was wondering how people will pay their new monthly health insurance premiums .... check, money order, bank transfer, credit cards? It could be a real problem for a lot of people who mostly rely on cash, or high fee cash cards. People who don't use banks might be in for another shock.

Here's one article that discuses the problem:

What have you heard? Or have you not heard anything at all? Before today, I never gave it a thought.

Like all Government run deals, those that haven't been taxed to death yet will pay for all the others ! 8-)
....just thought I'd pee on your shoes for asking questions like that !

Some one on the radio was saying yesterday that obama's crew at the IRS has hired the old "Acorn Group" and occupy people to take payments and have access your personal info like Dr reports and credit card info for your health care. if true I am not surprised.

Good question. The people that need this type of coverage the most: extremely poor who cannot afford health insurance, those on unemployment and just barely meeting their basic needs, those that are chronically ill and already on welfare. The idea that "now everyone will pay their fair share" is folly. How are these people going to "pay their fair share".

Supposedly if your income is low enough they will be taken care of for you. Needless to say we know who will be footing the tab. I really don't get it because indigent folks had medicaid to fall back on and taxpayers were footing the bill anyway. Why did the country even need Obamacare?

Excellent point. We were told that health care was so expensive because so many people were not paying their share and everyone else picks up the expense. I fail to see how Obamacare changes that situation in any way.

It's odd that no one yet has addressed the initial question ... how will people with no banking connections pay their monthly premiums, no matter how low those premiums might be? Even if it's only $50 a month ... money order, cash, barter?

Will there be a physical location somewhere where they can go give cash to a live employee? Or maybe they can make cash payments at a government office?

I would say the same way that they pay any bill...surely there will be accommodations to TAKE YOUR MONEY.

For those that don't bank, they can use money orders.

When it comes down to the issue at hand that should be the least of ones concern.

Thanks for posting. From what I have read most people who live on a cash basis without enough funds to have a checking account are already on some sort of assistance program and will most qualify for the basic wellness package at no cost. There are still going to be those, the truly destitute that may not even have the most basic of information of how to get care if needed. This is especially true in the poorest of the states like Mississippi and Louisiana where the governors have blocked assistance and medicaid expansion.

If I don't pay for the Obamercare plan, and I don't pay the penalties, and interest, the IRS is going to put me in jail, where I'll have all the FREE healthcare I need.

From all I've read, there will be no jail time for those who don't participate in Obamacare. What information can you post that tells us there will be prosecution and possible jail time?

Or were you just talking in hearsay generalities?

Hearsay, generalities, for now. Ya never know what kind of crap they'll add later. Of course, I haven't read the entire 2800 pages, for all I know, and anyone else, it may already be hidden in there somewhere.
