Interesting article obviously written by a concerned citizen who takes things at face value, the emphasis on ARMED GUARDS for example. Granted they were greatly and deservedly disappointed in not being able to complete their tour.
Nowhere in the article does the writer acknowledge the real problem, the lockout brought upon Congresses failure to fullfill their responsibilities.

There is no doubt that part of the problem is our government's failure at multiple levels, although I wouldn't lay it all at the feet of Congress.

At the same time, it is manifestly evident that we have a spiteful, petty bureaucracy at work here, and one should be making considered evaluations as to the source.

not surprising....the criminal Obummer Administration reportedly gave orders to the National Park Service (and probably other agencies, too) to make things as hard on people as possible. Even monuments which were open 24X7X365 without personnel have been closed, supposedly due to the "shutdown," yet keeping the places closed and people out requires MORE personnel than keeping them open! Of course, it it's an Obummer-approved event they put on more personnel to keep things open. How anyone could possibly believe anything this pathetic human being says is way beyond me. He's shown time and time again that he's nothing more than a lying narcissist with sociopathic tendencies yet those Obummer Kool-Aid drinkers continue to slurp it up at the trough as they live through their denial of the obvious.

"Congress's failure to fulfill their responsibilities."
Barack Obama

It is good to know that you are listening to him.

It's not a matter of listening to him, as you say, it is very evident.

You are a parrot. You repeat the same words that he says.
Do the math as to how this is going to affect the american people and open your eyes.
We need health care reform but this is not being done in the right way.

OMG what is going on. I think its time to get rid of this so called dictator and any who support him. After hearing of more than one story, I would be a little worried about visiting the US. Whats going on is getting out of hand. We come to the states quite often to tour around and do photography. Its a shame to be scared to come to the US as it is such a beautiful country to photograph.

Negotiate on what ? The defunding of a law that has been passed, signed and affirmed by the SC and the American people through an election ?

There is a lot of bluster on these boards, but I can assure you that it is as safe as ever to visit the US.
The conservative TP is very overly representative on the UHH.
The American people, according to the polls, blame the republicans for this mess and want it to end.

They blame the Republicans only by a slim margin. It looks to me like they blame anyone and everyone in DC.
