Wow Nikon finally admitted to the dust problem with the D600! Oh, wait they didn't admit to it, they just released a replacement camera, the D610! What a joke. If I were not a Nikon user I wouldn't be so pissed off!

Being a Canon user I am not affected. But I have a close friend with a D600 and dust problems. Wonder if Nikon will extend the warranty on the D600? They should just recall them.

Nikon is famous for not admitting to a problem then quietly correcting it. I think they try to avoid the cost of repairing the equipment with the defect. They had a problem with a loose lens hood on their 28-300 lens. Never admitted it but quietly fixed it on newer releases.

Same thing with the rubber gasket on their 24-70 lens right out of the box. They would tell you it was dropped rather than admit the defect. The newer 24-70 is smooth and problem free. From what I've seen, Nikon makes good equipment but has less than satisfactory customer relations.
