I guess it's all a big joke to you right now but how you gonna feel when you don't get your social security check?
Then I would bet it's going to be a different story.

No, but if you find that you can't make the mortgage let me know and I'll buy you out.
Once again, refer to the debt ceiling post from the7th. SS is a stand alone entity. It is funded by citizens. Granted, the funds there are T-bills that the gov't issued to replace the MONEY so gov't could use the face value of these bills to fund other programs, but the interest on these bills will be paid up front from monthly tax revenues. This means that money will be there to cover SS and Medicare checks. Now the checks may be late if the President choses to furlough the administration department of SS, but that will be on him. This is just shameless scare tactics by this administration.

By any chance do you mean the Social Security that was set up as a "lock-Box" account for each individual but was stolen by a Democratic Congress during LBJ's Great Society and placed in the General Fund?
I don't plan on ever getting a SS check... nor the 30 years of deposits I have put into it. So it matters little to me.
Scare me with something scary.
You wanna know why Barry has concentrated on making all this this as visibly painful as he can to the common people? Because he is afraid that if people realize we don't need all this overhead, that everything seems to go on just fine without it, they may decide to get rid of it-back to what it should be, not like the festering cancer it has grown into.
Like the sequester cuts he now happily uses to show HIS spending cuts... they haven't hurt ANYTHING-ROFL Orwell would be proud.

Gents, you really need to read the paper once in a while. If we go into default, you will not be getting your social security checks.
Then will you still support it?

With what? Our money is based on the full faith in the US. Kind of an oxymoron now. Paper of no certain value. Happy purchasing.
