Regarding "personal autonomy":
1) Where, exactly, is this concept in the American Constitution?
2) Our Supreme Court - which is not exactly filled with "flaming liberals" - ruled that the "personal mandate" was OK.
3) If Mr Jones has no health insurance, and rides his motorcycle without wearing a helmet ("the guvmint ain't gonna tell me what to put on my head") and has an accident, why should Mr Smith, who has health insurance, pay for Jones' very expensive medical care? At that point, what about Smith's "personal autonomy"?
4) The person who wants maximum autonomy needs to live, by him/herself, on a deserted island. That way, he/she doesn't need to take orders from anyone. Most people reject that approach to life.
BTW: Have you taken any decent pictures lately? That's what this website is all about, no?

the government is not there to give us orders. It is only there to protect us from threats to our personal liberties! We have let it take on to many of our personal responsabilities, and need to take them back!!!

Personal autonomy is scattered throughout the constitution, most especially in the bill of rights.
The SCOTUS did, indeed, uphold the mandate. That makes it constitutional, until it changes. Like Plessy, Dred Scott, Brown, et. al. What's constitutional changes.
Your motorcycle analogy is flawed. Insurance itself is risk sharing. When Mr. Jones purchases it, he shifts some of the cost of his risky behavior onto others. If Mr. Smith has bought insurance, he has voluntarily agreed to the risk sharing arrangement. All voluntary. When it's mandated, personal autonomy disappears.
I suggest you look up the concept of "ordered liberty." I never suggested anarchy or isolationism, but nice straw man.
Yes. I have taken a great number of pictures.

Shouldn't they pay for it? If not them, then who?

I need education here , help me please ...

Everybody or most of us , is complaining about the cost of medical services .. docs hospital etc etc , Why it's not possible to shop in others states for a lower rate ? I believe, if that was possible, it will stabilize the market , the rates will go down and peoples will be able to choose what they can afford without having the gov. between our legs s usual .

I know for a fact that this Country is a land of opportunities , but this time the opportunity is not there .

Because the democrats refuse to even entertain the idea of shopping for insurance across state boundaries. But also let us remember that the ACA won't improve medical care, just insurance coverage.

So you've joined 3 days ago, decided you don't care for the general chit-chat section specifically set aside for non-photography correspondence between like minded members, have posted no photos yet chide people on their lack of posted images, are lecturing all of us what the site is for, and have a decidedly left wing view of the world and thus who should pay for other people's problems....

... you'll fit right in.

ROFL!

It's already out of money, that's one of the reasons why we keep raising the debt ceiling.

Arguing about politics is pointless. Instead, let's argue about Canon vs Nikon! Full disclosure: I don't own either one. I've been using a Leica M3, with reasonable success, since 1958.

Is it the camera? I'm sure there are some cellphone images that are better than some of your Leica images.

Let's get back to the topic and leave NorthwoodsCynic to ponder the meaning of life. Someone had posted that the government would be fully funded 100% except for Obamacare. I heard from somewhere that the Debit Ceiling must be funded by law. What if... Obama refuse to accept money from Congress to pay the principle on our debit if his Obamacare is not funded by then?
