List of Obama Closures..
all this shutdown stuff is a distracter to the fact we goin over 17 trillion. now everybody hollerin pass the budget. people need get they heads out thier A**.
This whole shutdown over Obamacare is the real tragedy. The Republican Congress got their panties in a bunch over something that is already law and is willing to bring down the economy to prove it.
Their excuse that when it passed they didn't have a majority in either house is a joke. They didn't have a majority because the voters didn't vote for them.
This little temper tantrum will assure that they will lose again except for those districts that were gerry-mandered to the point that they will vote republican even if it bites them on the ass.
I take solace in the fact that we will have another Democratic President following this one and yet I feel sorry for the old angry white guys who just can't handle it and feel the world has passed them by. Yet even with all their griping, not one has stepped forward to give up their social security or medicare but are completely willing to sell out the next generation.
If Obamacare is destined to fail, why not just let it and then you can play the I told you so card, or are they just afraid it might actually work?

I hope that they take this boat right over the cliff, it is inevitable that it will happen sooner or later because the world will eventually put a limit on the amount of money this country can borrow or will begin the devaluation of our dollar as the fed continues to print... At this point the republicans should demand significant budgetary concessions before raising the debt limit. If the president disagrees then so be it, face the music and take it over the cliff.
Republican's can't get along with theyseleves.

Not to worry Frank... 85% of the government is still being funded. It is not as bad as Obama and the democrats (and YOU) make it out to be. Hang in there Frank, lets defund Obamacare and get on doing what we enjoy doing in our spare time. BTW, the Republicans wear fresh panties.

Yes, we get it. Everybody that dislikes Obama's policies is racist. Come up with something new.
Not necessarily racist.

The GOP attempted to defund Obama care because their polls indicated people do not want the bill. The defunding failed. At this point their goal is two fold, again demanded by the majority of voters: 1. Repeal the self-voted 75% subsidy and exemptions for Congress. If we must pay full price then so should they. 2. Extend the mandate for a year. Obama, without authority to do so, gave business a one year delay on the mandate but refused to grant it to the people. Delaying the mandate does not prevent implementation of Obama care, it simply delays the fines for those that do not sign up.
What exactly is your problem with that?
Add one more closer to your list. In mid Missouri where my wife grew up the canoe rental companies can not rent canoe to float the rivers in the area because they are in the Mark Twain National Forest. These are private businesses

Is there really a good reason to threaten Christian clergy with arrest for conducting Sunday services? If there is I can't see it.

Interesting that you would quote Mill, I am sure that conservatism was a little different back in the mid 19th century. Mill was a strong advocate of individual freedoms and liberty, I am quite certain that he would be horrified by the federal government of today.
If one were to classify Mill I think that in today's political nomencalture he would be called a libertarian.

Yup, Obamacare was passed without a single Republican vote in favor, back when the Democrats had control of both chambers of congress. Now that the Republican controlled House put forth a "temporary" spending bill that does not fund a law that none of them wanted in the first place, the Democrats still in control of the Senate will not approve the stop gap spending bill. Then all the liberals from the senate on down, have the nerve to blame the Republicans for the slow down.

And after they shoved Obamacare down the voters throats, despite the fact that most Americans opposed it, they lost control of the House. Sucks don't it?

Temper tantrum? Seems it's the Democrats who are throwing the tantrum, the Republicans have put forth a spending bill, and to the dismay of the Democrats in the Senate they didn't get any money for their socialist monstrosity, so they allow the government to shut down as many publicly popular things as possible to piss off the greatest number of people possible, while life goes on as usual for them.

The HOUSE passed a bill to fund 100% of the government, that's right, 100%, except ObummerCare. This is their purpose and their job and has been since the beginning of this country and the way government works. All you left wing democrat liberals who say the republicans shut down the government are either liars or dumb as a rock.
Were it not for the bias of the MSM Obama would get his ass kicked by the American voters, the MSM refuses to cover the BS war being waged by the Administration on the American people.
