A little different take...

The Democrat-controlled Senate has voted down all of those funding bills, and thus forced the government to shut down. Harry Reid and President Obama say that no negotiation is possible with the Republicans that the only acceptable solution is for the House to pass a clean continuing resolution to fund all of the federal government including the Affordable Care Act. They say that the Republicans are holding the government hostage in order to get their way on Obamacare.
But isnt that exactly 180 degrees opposite of what is actually happening? Arent the Democrats saying that the single program known as Obamacare is more important than everything else in the federal government, and that if they cant get their way on Obamacare they will shut down the government? Thats what it looks like to me.

Obamacare, the Affordable Care Act, is NOT A PROGRAM: it is a LAW, one deemed constitutional by the US Supreme Court. The GOP would like every one to think that it is a bill that is still up for legislative action, but it is not.
The ACA is now being implemented, and despite the horror stories that the Repubs would have you believe, they are actually fearful that it is going to be successful. Their wish to delay its implementation is a ploy to add time to try to thwart its full implementation.
Think about it: instead of trying to defund or delay an actual law of the land, why didn't they come up with a viable alternative, since they have had about 40 or so years to do so?

I beg to differ. It was not declared constitutional by the Supreme Court. The court ruled that any fines levied would be a tax. If it doesn't implode by itself it will be repealed down the line. It is an idiotic law put together by idiots who did not know what the hell was in it. That useless twit Nancy Pelosi had to make her infamous statement "We had to pass the law so that we could find out what was in it". Not a single Republican voted for that law and for good reason.
"Not a single Republican voted for that law and for good reason."
Reason: Selfish and Self-Centered.

Two words for you. The first is bull and you can fill in the second!

What was the good reason and what alternative have they offered? None on both counts I would say.
But thats allright, thanks to the T Party Republicans the entire party is fast imploding and losing any resemblence of trustworthyness or loyality and will soon be a bad memory to the American voting public.
