Did anyone besides me join a photo walk today?

I met up with a group in Duluth. We shot Lake Superior with the winds holding steady at 30mph, gusting to 47mph. I stood at least 20 feet from shore and was completely soaked by the big waves. We had an awesome day!

It started pouring on the way back to my campsite. So I stopped at Wal-Mart to get some candles to keep my tent warm. Hopefully everything in it is not soaked!

So, I'm just sitting here in my car waiting for the rain to subside.

Nobody from Duluth knew about UHH! But they do now

As horrible as that weather sounds, sometimes it just feels great to be out in it.
Sounds like this was one of those days.
Hope you got some good pics too nightski and get warm real quick.

I joined a delightful group in downtown Sacramento for a tour of some of the older buildings, including the city hall and post office. Beautiful weather: I just wish we could have started 30 minutes earlier. Quite an assortment of gear and techniques. Lots of fun, but I haven't even looked at my pictures yet.

I have gone for the last 3 years, this year we did an evening walk to shake these up a little, I don't know what part I enjoyed more the photography part or the break we took to warm-up a little at a local coffee shop and just sat and bull sh#tted for 1/2 an hour.

Nope...I didn't even know what it was about until too late.

Let us know if your images get posted to Kelby's site.

BTW: For everyone reading this; this isn't just "a" photowalk she's talking about, it's coordinated by Scott Kelby and it's a "worldwide" photo walk...after everyone does their specific walks...they submit the images to Kelby who (I think) posts them all as a representative of a slice of the world on that day.

Nightski, yes I went on a walk yesterday, the day of the walk in Old Cow Town located in Wichita, KS. I was not registered, just walked into the group and was welcomed!
Had a great two hours and watched several others and then went out on my own. Have not got the photos loaded in the computer yet, but sometime today soon!
Had fun and would do it again!

Wow! Sounds like fun and a half! Wind gusting to 47 mph, soaked by waves, Wal-Mart, pouring rain, a cold tent, candles for warmth. :D

You had your camera out in this weather? Any pictures to post?

Did a walk here in NYC at Central Park. This was my fourth walk and had the largest amount of people in it, about 60. This made it much more disorganized then the others, but nice people and a lovely day.

Nightski does seem to have an adventurous spirit and doesn't allow anything to stop her from embracing life.

Some of life's complications prevented me from traveling too far afield for one of the official photo walks. I assume due to the constant threat of a tropical storm, plans for the nearest one were never finalized. (As it turned out, the storm stalled in the Gulf and the day was actually very nice.)

The walks sound like a lot of fun. It looks like they are always in October. I'm going to mark on my calendar to be on the lookout for next year's.

This is my third one. All three have been in urban areas. Next time if I can't find one out in the countryside, I'll go solo.

Yes, our "walk" started at Huntington Beach State Park in Murrells Inlet, SC. Fantastic area for birds, especially waterfowl. Also lots of alligators. Then we moved across the street to Brookgreen Gardens. Wonderfully beautiful place, not only of gardens, wildlife and history; but one of the larger collections of large sculptures in the world. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. This was my first time participating in the World Wide Photo walk. I took the opportunity to practice using my new Canon sx50. Have not yet decided on which one of my many photos to submit. As a newbie and a novice photographer in our local club, I know I won't have a winning photo. But, I had a great time and it was fun to participate.
