I am editing, with PSP, some head shots that were not taken under the best of conditions. The location did not have the best of background conditions for what I want to use the photos for. Is there anywhere online that I can download photo's of studio type backdrops that I can use to replace the original background. Thanks in advance, really enjoy the forum.

Just do a search for free digital backdrops. I've gotten tons from that search.

Here are 23 to get you started.

You can always do what I do and make your own backgrounds. Just shoot some out of focus stuff (lights at night creates great bokeh). Then I just keep a folder of backdrops that I've made over time (right now I have more than 50 backdrops that I've made).

Hope this helps. :)

Look up a site called "Smart Photo Editor". Sorry. don't have the link. Anyway, it's a free download, and there's a load of stuff you can do with backgrounds, and many more things. I love to play with it. DJT

Just some of my background files: 8-) (the middle one got turned sideways, don't know how).

P.S...how do people add more pics than 3 images?

Also you did not tick the box so we can not download them. Or are they copywriter drops?

These are backdrops that I created myself. I just took pictures of things that I felt might be attractive as a background. You can do the same. 8-)

These images were originally larger files. I edited them down to smaller images so they could be used by smaller software programs. But you might want to keep your images fairly large files for better details.

Thanks Mark, Have every intention of doing just that, but needed something quick for a project. I like some of the ones that you have done, specially like the next to the last one. The white one. Very classy. I can see uses for several of them. Picked a couple from the Adobe link that worked. Thanks.

If you have an iPhone/Pad, go into the Apple Store Apps and do a search of Wallpaper. There are wallpaper apps of every size, shape and topic you can think of. Most of them are free or cost $0.99 cents. I have about 20 apps and many are HD. Just find the right image and save it as a picture, then work with as you would any other background.

In PSP (PaintShop Pro), create a new file by clicking on File, New. Choose size under Image Dimensions and click OK.

Choose Palettes and click Materials. Choose the pattern you want from the menu. Choose Flood Fill and click on the new image. The pattern will fill the image. Leave this image on the screen.

Open the picture you want to use and click on Image, Object Extractor. Use the Brush tool to "cut" around the image (green line). Choose Fill Tool and click inside the green line. Area will turn red.

Click Process and then OK. Save as a .psp file. With that picture onscreen, click Edit, Copy.

Click on the background picture and click on Edit, Paste as new layer. The picture you "cut out" will appear on the background.

Click on the Pick Tool to get a box and use that to change the size and position of the inserted picture. Save your new pictures.

You can also create your own backgrounds as someone suggested.
