I have a few items I'd like to sell, and I've noticed many people here using a Paypal account. I'm guessing you provide a bank account and paypal tranfers the funds to that account. Are there any fees added by paypal, either for the seller or the buyer? How long does it normally take for the money to end up in your account? Any info is greatly appreciated, thank you.

It takes no time at all for a transaction. Paypal is safe, fast and I use it all the time. No fees for the buyer. I don't have a "seller" account so I don't know about that side of it. I only know that I will buy from someone who offers Paypay over someone who has credit cards only. I think it's an advantage to a seller to have this choice, in addition to any other form of payment.

You can enter a bank account or credit card and the money is put in your account when both parties have completed your transaction. Seller pays most of the cost, most people add a small fee to their item as shipping to cover their cost.
Very easy to do, I use a small credit card with a limit on it.

I got a BlueBird debit card from WalMart to use with PayPal. That way, "they" don't have access to my real credit cards. Thinking fees are only for International sales.

I opened an account with Pay Pal and got a separate credit card from PayPal as well .
That way no one has access to any of my Bank accounts or Bank credit cards

As soon as the buyer pays you , the money is immediately put into your account .

Pal charges the seller a nominal fee , the Buyer pays nothing.

There IS a watchout when using PayPal and although it might be rare, it is worth knowing about: if you sell something and it is paid via PayPal, you need to be SURE:
-- don't ship until payment is confirmed by PayPal
-- ALWAYS get a receipt of your shipment. Some buyers claim non-delivery and file a complaint with PayPal, and if you cannot prove to PayPal's satisfaction that you did, in fact, ship or deliver the product, they will reverse the payment to you. This might mean that you are out the product AND out the money.

I'm not saying don't do it. I suggest you call PayPal and ask them for the process of how it works to sell something with PayPal payment, and then follow their explanation to the letter.

PayPal,is quick, the recipient pays a fee based on the amount received. That money stays in your account, until you request PayPal to send it to your external account.

Go here and click on the contact tab at the bottom of the home screen. Talk to them they can give you the help you need. I have my account attached to a paypal visa rather than my bank account. You can use any credit card temporairily but after a specific dollar amount you'll be asked to use your bank account or apply for a paypal card.

Hey Doc ..... proceed with caution .....

..... I wouldn't use PayPal as a seller with any transaction that's not associated with your eBay account .....

Hey Doc ..... between eBay and PayPal it's gonna cost ya approximately 11% of the selling price ..... If it sells for $100 you'll end up with $89

You can get around the transaction fee of 11% if you have the buyer send the money to you as a gift. As said, many scammers out there offering big money for your items so make sure to keep all receipts and the notifications come from Paypal. ;-)

11% is eBay and PayPal combined Doc ..... less than half if eBay isn't involved ..... and then like you just said a gift has no fee, but you're putting yourself in jeopardy financially that way .....

I can just agree, I do have a sellers account and I've never been charged any fees, selling or buying.
