More than welcome. Most importantly, pay attention to how to organize your photos when importing. This function alone is worth the investment and if done properly will save you time in the long run. Just remember, this is a catalog that can remember where the pictures are and what refinements you have done in LR. If any changes are made to location out of LR it will struggle to find the shots.

It's a great program for two reasons: it will let you do all sorts of wonderful things with your images; it will keep your mind sharp as you try to figure out how to use it and learn new procedures. Learning LR is a lifetime activity.

Amen. My advice is really learn the import/organization part.
There is a tendency to rush to the fun part (develop) and not fully understand the organization part (uh huh, like I did). For me that part took some study. There are tons on online tutorials and also books on the subject. I like Julianne Kost on line and the Kelby book. Plenty of other options, however.

That's 12 1/2 hours on instruction, for about $3.52 and hour. Quite a bargain.

Best stuff out there in my opinion is from George Jardine video series. The Library series for the organization, file handling and Develop series for initial and continuing reference on processing. Very worth the price for both - will save hours/ days of frustration and rework.

I have used Scott Kelby's books for Photoshop Elements as well as for Lightroom, and found them to be extremely helpful. Not only does it go through the software, but he also describes workflows which I have implemented very successfully.
