Actually, that fellow flying the F-15 Eagle is reading a Flying Magazine. When I first got that photo in an email, for a time, I thought I had gotten it mixed up with some photos that my wife's great nephew had taken when he was still flying the F-15; His mom, (who is my wife's niece) sends us photos from time to time that he's taken from his plane.
He flew the F-15 for about 5 years, then transitioned to the
F-22A Raptor, and has been flying it for about 4 years now.
We don't get to see him very often, but the next time he's home I'm going to ask him if he's ever had a chance to read a magazine while he's flying his jet. ( I think I know what the answer will be. )

I was out flying one day with a female friend. I handed her the Pilot Operating Handbook and asked her to go down the checklist for landing....She got this pale look on her face as we floated along at 10,000 feet and said, shouldn't you already know how to fly this thing? Why do you need instructions?

Well, when I first scrolled down, my first thought was instruction manual, 'cause WHO is gonna be in the cockpit of any jet reading anything?? Is it really THAT easy to fly one of those things? I certainly didn't think so.
I do envy those of you who ever get to do that and I am in awe of the skill it takes. I would dearly love a chance to go flying fast. It really wouldn't be a good thing for me to learn how to fly. I'd never follow the rules or get where I was going. I'd get up there and just forget there was any reason for going anywhere until I was done with drifting around like a bird.
