Deleting in LR 5.2

I'm in the Develop module of LR 5.2, with all the thumbnails along the bottom of the screen. When I select/highlight several thumbnails and click Delete, only one gets deleted. That doesn't seem right.

Hold on a minute! I just tried it in Library, and I can delete whatever is highlighted. Whoopee! I wonder why there is that difference.

To keep you from making terrible delete choices while in develop mode. It is just a safeguard and a reminder to do changes like that while in library tab.

Be careful with that Delete, Remove from disk will take it all out. Remove from Li bray will leave the original where ever it is instead of where it was. It doesn't move to the recycle Bin. It's removed.

When you delete a file and remove it from the disk, it goes into the recycle bin. If you go to the recycle bin and choose restore, it will put the file back into the original folder in, "Your Pictures", in Windows. If you want restore it in Lightroom, you have to re-import it, or to remove it completely delete it from the recycle bin.

I was just surprised that I cannot do multiple deletes from the Develop module.

I always delete from the Library Module, but nothing is deleted for good until you empty the recycle bin. A good safety built into Windows.

Right. I also found that the thumbnails must be displayed in the main screen in LR. If a large image is there, only one image will be deleted, regardless how many are highlighted.

The best way that I know to delete multiple photos is as follows:
1. Go the the Library module.
2. Go through the photos one at a time using the arrow keys.
3. On each photo that you want to delete hit the "x" key.
That marks the photo as rejected.
4. When you are done marking the the rejected photos then hit "ctrl-backspace" to delete the rejected photos.
Rejected photos can also be deleted from the photo menu.
To un-reject a photo just hit x again.

Thanks. I'll give that a try tomorrow.

I develop you can only work on one picture at a time so it will only
let you delete one at a time. Library is different, you can move several photos so you can delete more then one.

After you have selected the photos you want to delete look in the lower right side and enable auto sync and you should be able to delete all of the images.

Ah, something new. Thanks.
EDIT: In Library, I have Sync and Sync Settings, but they are grayed-out. What do those buttons sync?

I am not familiar with the sync button helping you delete multiple pictures. The sync button will allow you to choose multiple pictures and sync them allowing for "WB", Contrast, Exposure.... etc..... to be allowed the same on all the pictures selected to be synced in that set.
Heres Adobe's take:

Here's a function:
