Need PSE Waltermark help, please

Have PSE 5: when I use the Editor to add a watermark to multiple files, it seems that how "visible" the watermark is depends on whether or not I have resized (cropped) the photo. Camera is a Canon 450D (AP-C). I have used font sizes of 12, 16, 20 and 36. If the group of files included photos cropped to 8x10 or 5x7, the watermark looks pretty much as I expect it to, but if the photo is original size, the watermark is in such small type that it may as well not be there, it's hardly visible at all - regardless of the size of font used . I don't want to have to crop all my photos! And when I tried font 36, the watermark was HUGE on the 8x10 cropped photos. :? Anyone have any idea what is going on here????

Photo-Al, I recommend you view some Google search info on this subject. Click on this link http://www.google.com/search?q=automate+watermark+for+photoshop+elements+5&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a to view some info. Arnold

not sure exactly how you are making your "watermark", but what I did using Elements was make a custom "brush" which was my logo/watermark, then just make a new layer and click once with that brush and the layer can be resized, moved around, color changed, etc...I save that photo with a "c" ( or some other letter) added to the file name so the original isn't marked.

I'll look into Brushes. I was using the "Process Multiple Files" option in the Editor, and Watermark is one of the choices in that so I assumed ...???? I have a number of photos for a business to select from for their website, and I'm going to give them a CD to make their final selections from. I wanted to make sure that all the photos on the CD had my watermark, even though only some of them (their final selections) will get further post processing. (Hope that makes sense ...) Just trying to find a simple, easy and not time-consuming way of accomplishing that. Open for suggestions.

Photo-Al, you're not the only one here with that issue!! I was experiencing the same thing myself with PSE10 that I'm learning. I'll have to look into brushes too!

I was hoping that the answer wasn't that I needed to upgrade ot 9 or 10 ... from the sounds of it, Adobe hasn't "fixed" the problem yet, so upgrading isn't the solution.

There may be other reasons to upgrade, like for RAW processing or some other improvements ... just this particular situation still is hanging around. Thanks for the reply.

When you crop an image you are decreasing it's total size.
If you apply the correct size watermark to image before you crop it, the watermark will remain the correct size.

I hope this is what you were looking for, if you have specific questions, feel free to pm me.
