Anyone else who is frustrated by the latest version of Chrome that shows in graphics the last eight sites you visited, there is a solution. An IT friend of mine sent it to me. It was in Spanish but I'll do my best to explain.

Open Chrome and in the taskbar write: chrome://flags and press Enter.

Ignore the warning that these experiments might be dangerous and scroll down until you find: “Habilitar la API ampliada de Instant”.

Click on the downward arrow and then click on "Inhabilitar".

Re-start your computer and voila, you're back to the old version.

For those of you who speak Spanish, here is the original link:

There is no English version. Even though your version comes out in English there must be some point when you see this (or something like it):

Extended API Enable Instant Mac, Windows, Chrome OS
Extended API Enables Instant, which offers tighter integration with your default search provider, including one revamped New Tab page, extracting search query terms in the omnibox, a clear omnibox dropdown menu and instant previews of results search as you type in the omnibox. # enable-instant-extended-api.

If that doesn't help then ask me again but let me know exactly which point you reach and can't go any further.

I have enough annoying computer problems that I prioritize them. Graphics from previous sites are at the bottom of my list. :D

Why on earth would you WANT to go back to the old version?

Because I don't want to be treated like an idiot. I know which sites I visited if I need to return to any of them then I keep them in my bookmarks. Question answered?

It is always a good idea to upgrade to the latest browser for security.

The way to get rid of that page in the latest version of Chrome is to go to 'Settings' and find the 'On Startup' options. You will probably see 'Open the New Tab page' selected.

Change that to 'Open a specific page or set of pages' then set the page to your preferred home page
Possibly UHH??
