Hi- My name is Harry and I live in the Lower Hudson Valley of NY.
My wife bought me a Canon EOS T3i about a year ago and I am learning how to use it. It has a lot more features and settings than my old AE1.
I like taking photos of seascapes, light houses and general nature.

You've also got Bear Mountain, Perkins Drive and the water route of NS.
[quote=hftyler]Welcome Harry. Your digital has the main settings that your film camera had. ISO instead of film speed. F-stop, and shutter speed. Play with these first. If you download with "store original" we can check your camera settings and give you advise. Windows will display your settings if you click on properties. David
Hi Harry, Since you said you were in Stony Point you're not really "In Hiding". Do you know the girl in the Progressive Insurance ads? She is from Stony Point too. Seriously there is so much so close to you to photograph. I hope you are very young. I lived in Ft. Montgomery for 27 years. Only did a little photography then......darn! Welcome to the UHH. Great folks here. Oh, if you want to try special night photography you might try your hand at getting a pic of General "Mad Anthony" Wayne. They say he is still sometimes spotted riding his horse along Route 9W.

Hi Harry, Since you said you were in Stony Point ... (

Believe it or not the Progressive girls parents taught a history course in adult education that I attended.
Yes this is a beautiful area. I used to have some friends in Fort Montgomery. I used to meet them at the Trading Post for a couple of pints.
