First Parish Church is located in Plymouth, MA. It was established by the Pilgrims and is the oldest church in America. The church was constructed by ship builders. You can see this in the ceiling. The ceiling is constructed like an upside down ship. Note there are no support columns anywhere in the church.

Many of the pilgrims who came over on the Mayflower are buried in the cemetery behind the church. The oldest graves had wooden headstones that deteriorated a long time ago.

Thanks, Pat. The inside structure is built like an upside down ship. If you come out the front door and go one block east, you come to the waterfront and the Mayflower.

Thank you, David. They're trying to raise funds to restore it. Time has taken a toll.

You probably did, Pat. It's a popular tourist attraction.

Thank you, jean. I always stop here when I'm in the area. It's a direct link to our past.

Thank you, rlaugh. I love photographing this church during the different seasons. They light a huge pine tree in front of it during the holidays. I always get a warm feeling when I'm there.

Thank you, Diana. One of the nice things about living in New England is the access we have to so many beautiful places like this.
