Succulent Bloom with Dew Drop

This is my first post in this section and I think it fits the criteria - please correct me if I am mistaken.

The rains of the Pacific Northwest have started early this year as compared to the last 2, so what I call "Lemonade Season" (when you have lemons...) is in full swing. The astemaria are doing well considering the cool nights so they are the feature of the shot. C&C welcome.

Thank you CJartist. I love the vibrancy of the bloom...so much to enjoy.

 It seem that I have posted proof that I recently had a "seniors moment". I had planned to post one shot and changed my mind in mid-process...great except I forgot to change the title of the post. So no, I really don't think that an astemaria is a succulent. Here is the photo that was originally planned so the thread title is correct... eventually

My apologies for any confusion...other than my own

This is the Succulent!

Both fantastic images. And if it weren't for senior moments I wouldn't have any excitement. ;-)

Carter, I didn't think that the astemaria was a succulent but the newly posted one of the correct flower is beautiful and love the color red.

Second one is my favorite if you have a macro lens your next assignment is to isolate one of the drops that shows refraction.

It when I was replying to your post that I realized what I had - rather hadn't - done. Just a bit embarrassing. I did think that you had been oh so diplomatic and kind not to point out the glaring error...thank you.

Glad you enjoyed the second post.

Hi jrb1213. Thank you for looking in and leaving a comment and a challenge. I do have a macro lens - actually two...a 2.8/50 and a 2.8/100. Rain is not a problem around here to produce a nice water drop. The trick is finding a day without wind to blow the flower and the water drop. Will see what I can do...thanks.

If you have a nice day and no wet petals , mix up some sugar water and place a drop where you need it. The sugar water has better cohesion (bigger drops) than pure water

Well done Carter, I find myself preferring the first of the two photos.

Hi William...I love astemaria and ones with some character from the rain are always on my radar. I'm not as familiar with succulents but thought the bloom was kind of different...water-gathering I guess. Thanks for looking and leaving a comment...much appreciated.
