Why I like Zoom

While visiting the Abby of Montmajour near Arles, France yesterday, I noticed some ponies in a field in one of my landscape attempts. I shot the landscape, then zoomed to 360mm on my P and S Nikon. Results surprised me, handheld, Nikon P510.

Not pro quality but I'm sure it would print good enough on A4 paper if I wanted to.

Thanx, this camera amazes me more every time I use it. I shot this photo in a dark stairwell in the Abby. No flash, look how the camera auto compensated and provided me with a clear well lit shot.

Amazing. As for the egret, isn't there something in the Bible about a pale horse with a pale rider?

They are Sperry Topsiders. I bought new ones for the trip. And I did clean my lens before the shoot. Probably helped. Thanx for your comment.

Ah ha, now I know where the title "Pale Rider" came from for the classic Clint Eastwood movie. I'm not bible knowledgeable so have to guess. Other than bible means collection of little books and Exodus was written several hundred years before Genesis by another tribe.

Nice capture, I think P&S cameras take amazing photos, they just don't have the bells and whistles that a DSLR has...sometimes I just don't care!
