Hello folks, I seem to have a predicament with this lens, let me explain, it all started with the purchase of a Tamron SP AF 10-24mm F/3.5-4.5 Di-II LD which is DX lens which I purchased by accident, I wanted it to use it for my D800, other than being the typical DX restriction is was fantastic lens very bright made vibrant pictures, I sold it and got the Sigma 12-24mm for the FX format, this lens has a good wide angle but it is kinda "dark" could not get any "vibrant" pictures if my life depends on it, well since I am new at the D800 and still learning I figured a setting somewhere is wrong, so I put on my D2X, I know it is DX but same result, dark pictures not at all vibrant, by dark I mean even in bright sunlight the pictures look like I cranked up the exposure compensation all the way up, I cannot figure out whats wrong and looking for help, maybe I should have purchased the Nikon 12 -24 mm all along.
Nikon's 12-24 is also a DX lens.
I have that Sigma lens too and experience the same problem.
Looking to get a 14-24 as soon as I can convince my boss that I need one.

You might want to take a look at the Tokina 17-35mm f/4 Pro FX Lens for Nikon; $549 less 2% with free shipping at B&H, but you can (and should) shop for a better price. I have used Tokina wide-angle lenses and love the sharpness and color rendition.
I have that lens but don't have your problem. Try contacting Tokina.
I would contact the lens Manufacturer they will undoubtedly want you to send it back if it is still under warranty. We tend too wait to long and then the warranty is void.
Or we just don't know how to use the product. I have done it. Had someone show what I was doing wrong or how to over come an issue.
There is a lot of high quality equipment that has been dumped at wholesale used prices because of this issues. Good luck. I hope you find an easy solution. J. R.
Thank you all for your input, it was helpful.
I decided to sell this lens and get another one.
