55-200 LENS,

I have a 55-200 lens for my Nikon d5100. however sometimes when I try to zoom in on things the lens seems to get stuck and I cannot focus, if I do it manually it seems ok and then will work for a while in auto mode, anybody had that problem and if so how did you fix it.

yes i had the camera is new and the lens came from a Nikon D50, maybe I did not clean the contacts on the lens good enough, thanks for reply.

If that doesn't work reset the camera in the menus to factory defaults

Call Nikon, they might know something about their lenses.
