I am working on portraits and got this one. This is my niece Jennifer. Always, always welcome advise.

This is low key lighting.

Thanks
Robin

What's to advise. Absolutely stunning shot of a gorgeous young lady. Her eyes are so warm and expressive. You did a great job.

Thanks! I want to learn so I always enjoy others opinion, good or bad. It helps.

I really like this shot for a couple of reasons:

1) The fall off of light across the face is close to what I like to get.
This isn't textbook but I do use this lighting ratio on the face
often.

2) I like the no separation from the background. The separation
occurs at the face which is something else I like to do.

Nice low key example with big edge light transitions around the face.

Love the DoF and straight on pose, with PP this could be outstanding and in a different league.

Go on Palefaces site and look at the tutorials / pics to give you ideas

I go along with Russ. And I would make her skin tone just slightly warmer.

It has been a long day, but I got it. Here is the touched up version. Let me know what you think.
