MAN was that ever a blast from the past. I don't know how many loads of wheat, soybeans, corn, & milo I hauled in an old L J Mack ten wheeler with a quadra-plex transmission. We had that old truck from the time I was 13 till after I went in the Navy. If I remember right it was a 1947 and had a 190HP thermodyne engine.
I wish you had checked store original. Those were some brute trucks.

Nice catch with old Macks!!

I started off on the old single screw cab over thirteen letter shit spreaders then spent the next five years in an F model puppy dog with a maxidyne engine with a five speed that dog would get to patting his feet at about 55 mph and would not stop till you reached 60 which was about as fast as it would go. Some of you older drivers out there have you ever driven in Georgia Over Drive? did that once going down into the Black canyon headed for Phoenix Arizona the cab got strangly quiet at about 100 mph I would guess that was in another 13 letter shit spreader. Man those were the days when a pair of vice grips would get that extra few mph so that you could try to run with the Big boys!!!!
