I've been looking at all the beautiful shots of horses on here and was inspired to give it a try. I went to a local stable and asked permission. He told me I could take a few shots of the horses outside but not to disturb them.
I walked over to the corral and this beautiful brown horse came walking right over. I know the first rule in portraits is to relax your model so I put my hand out. He sniffed my empty hand and then bit me.
As if that wasn't bad enough, the owner heard me yelling and came running over. I told him what happened and he threw me out for upsetting the horse. Now I know why there aren't any cowboys in New England.
Is he smiling?
A bite-et-sweet photo :D Very nice job though..always keep your hand flat..if their is a next time,so he can't bite you. How is your hand?
Score 1 for the horse; 0 for John Lawrence. That is a beautiful picture.

Thank you. He didn't break the skin so I didn't need a shot. I wasn't expecting it so I let out a pretty good yell. The horse took off running and I caught hell. There goes my career as a horse photographer.

You're right, Photo Girl. I thought I would get some sympathy at home but my wife still hasn't stopped laughing. She called all of our kids to tell them.

You're as bad as my wife, Mile. She can't stop laughing either.

Don't worry, Linda, you're in good company. The horse and my wife are still laughing too.

Well, I have to say I have tears now. To much laughing. But just think you got a great shot

Thanks, Mile. From now on, I'm only taking pictures of animals without teeth.
