Eight wallets were rerurned in New York City. I thought it would be the worst city in the world for something like this. London did not fare as well as NY. I know for a fact, it is all in what part of the city the wallet was placed. If the wallets were placed in a very bad area in NY, the return rate would be much lower. They also did not specify if the wallets were returned intact or if there was money or other contents missing. In my opinion, using just 12 wallets in each city is not enough for any kind of experiment of this sort. There are too many variables. If they used 100 wallets in each ciy I am sure London would have had a much higher return rate.
