Is it really necessary to keep patting eachother on the back in the forums? Entries like thumbs up for thumbs, or thanks for thumbs up are just a waste of space and time. They only serve to lengthen and dilute the core of the discussion.
Now, before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, no...nobody made me king of the forums, I'm just sayin...
<end rant>

No but I like a tumbs up every once in a while. It just saves a lot of words when you want to agree. Also you get to know the regulars and their tumbs up or thumbs down give a valued opinion. And come on now does skiping over those dumb yellow faces and thumbs slow you down that much. Just in My Not So Humble Opinion. - Dave

Thumbs up or down is the only way on the forum to express favorable or negative opinions, as there is no like/dislike option. Deal with it! :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

I love the thumbs up thing; especially when the picture posted is pure crap! How do you learn that way?

Whenever I try to express true criticism, people hate me more than they do JR1. But how are people going to learn if they never know the truth?

Mt Shooter has hit me between the eyes on several occasions. He minced no words. He was right and I took no offense. And I learned.

A thumbs down or an injection of personal morals doesn't cut it either.

I think the thumbs up or down is helpful as it does tell us if the poster is in favor of or against a specific issue and hence we get to know each other better. The one that confuses me is those who re-post and offer no comment or icon of any kind now there is a waste of space.

It's not as though we have a "like" button that we can push, or an up or down arrow.

I hate to be the one to agree with Ambrose but he is right and I think you guys are missing the point. What is the point of giving a thumbs up to a thumbs up? None what so ever. If you agree then for Gods shake, say so and give your reason for doing so. Why do you agree, why do you disagree.
I follow multiple threads that I have an interest in and I see someone has made a reply. I click on the thread and what do I see - a thumbs up, nothing else.
Now listen up! Don't you guys ever make me have to agree with Ambrose again... tighten up!

Ha, Ha, Ha! I don't get it. Set myself up for what? Did you expect a thumbs up? A thumbs down? What was your point?

Icon use is tricky as it is hard to understand...
So what does this really say?

:shock: :oops: :mrgreen: :hunf: :?: :twisted: :XD: :XD: :lol: :lol: :lol: :| :thumbdown:
