Monkeys

Once upon a time a man appeared in a village and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each.

The villagers, seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them. The man bought thousands at $10 and, as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort.

He next announced that he would now buy monkeys at $20 each. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again. Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms.

The offer increased to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so scarce it was an effort to even find a monkey, let alone catch it!

The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50 each! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would buy on his behalf.

In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers: "Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has already collected. I will sell them to you at $35 and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for $50 each."

The villagers rounded up all their savings and bought all the monkeys.

They never saw the man or his assistant again, only lots and lots of monkeys!

Now you have a better understanding of how the Obama Health Care PLAN WILL
WORK !!!!

Yeah we basically can't stand the concept of every American having access to health care. And it is so much easier to bash "Obamacare" than to come up with another plan....

I do not like Obamacare because of how it was forced on us and there are many problems with it.
I hope it is improved upon and becomes a good law.
Healthcare reform was needed but this was not the right way to do it in my opinion.

You know I hear a lot of folks saying Obama care is bad but no one can ever say why. All I ever hear is the same "sound bite" arguments you get on Fox news. I've never heard a well reasoned argument against it. The Affordable Health Care Act only affects 1/6th of the American population, everyone else just goes with what they have. This legislation makes insurance a possibility for the working poor. I don't see why people would be against that.

Do ;you think Romney-care would have looked different. Look at his state's health care and tell me what the differences are. Do you also hate being forced to carry car insurance?

Here we go again.
I can choose to drive a car or not.
Why should we be forced to buy health insurance if we can afford to pay for our own health care?

Hey Train Nut, by the way I like your avatar. The Affordable Care Act in no way keeps you from buying whatever health insurance you want. It does require a person to carry insurance, that is true, but more importantly, it makes insurance available to everyone. The reason it's compulsory is that insurance companies would not be able to offer affordable health insurance without mandatory participation. Much like car insurance. How much do you think car insurance would cost if it weren't for mandatory participation.

I'm not saying you do but many people think this is a government program which it definitely Is Not. I think that is one of the biggest misconceptions. The only government participation is in requiring participation and tax breaks for the poor.

I sincerely hope you are right. I admit all I know is from the news outlets, and, yes, Fox. My hopes are for my family in the US. It will not affect me personally, as I am not eligible, nor does Medicare, Medicaid, welfare, WIC, EBT, Section 8, nor any of the other handouts affect me. But I do, for the sake of others, hope you are right.

I understand what you are saying.
We will see how this plays out.
I do not think that what they are telling us is the truth.
As I have observed Obama, everything he says is the opposite of what he does.
He said this administration would be the most transparent administration and it has been the most secretive.
The ACA was not even debated or known what is exactly in it before they were asked to pass it.
I do not trust them.
