If Satan were to write his own beatitudes, one of them might go something like this:

"Blessed are those who gossip, for they cause strife and divisions that please me."

But I like gossip. Especially if it's about someone else and NOT me! LOL

You are doing good. Did you come up with these yourself?

Well, kinda. Our Adult Bible-Study Group (ages 60-80) took on the task of writing Christ's Beatitudes to where they were easier for us to understand, so we devoted one week to each of the Beatitudes, taking one week to study, research and write each, then compiling them into one grouping. When finished, somebody said, "Well we got 'em now to where they make more sense to us, but what would they sound like if Satan wrote his own beatitudes? Isn't it advisable to stay in touch with how your enemy is thinking?"
I'm submitting them, one at a time, hoping to encourage folks to use their minds, instead of just their emotions in
this business about "Faith".
I'm meeting some resistance, but that was expected. I'll continue to post either 'till I'm totally censored, or 'till I run out of Satan's beatitudes.
If anybody's got any that they'd like to contribute, fire away!

Batman, there are no resistance to your postings, only opinions and there will be no censoring here. You post what what ever you want to post. As for my opinions, that is all it is, opinions. That said, here it comes...

You can not dictate how someone serves God. We are each given gifts to use as God sees fit. As a Baptist I feel we don't put enough 'emotions' in the service of God. I feel good about doing good for others but I try not to express Joy, like I am holding myself back. Then again, I am not a mindless Christian either. I had never been attacked for my beliefs until I joined this Site. I have learned that you can not force your beliefs on others but I will stand up for my own. I can only hope to reflect Jesus in my own life as a Christian and to help my weaker brother when called upon.
One question, wouldn't it be better to think like Christ than to think like your enemy? That is like playing with fire to see how hot it is.

Batman, as a side note; you said that your Adult Bible-Study Group took on the task of writing Christ's Beatitudes to where they were easier for you and your group to understand, devoting one week to each of the Beatitudes. Why not share your study and research with us. I would be interested in seeing what your group came up with.

I think this helps to"know your enemy" so we understand how he attacks us.
It is good to have proper discussions on our beliefs and what the Bible actually says rather than what we think it says.
My eyes were opened when I read in Timothy that Paul told Timothy "to have a glass of wine with his meals to help his infirmities". It is good to have a glass of wine but not to get drunk.
The church I grew up in preached that we should not drink at all and that is not what the Bible says.
I agree that we must study the Bible to know what it says first but I think this is good.
I would like Batman to share their studies too.

If you know anything about the baptist... Don't drink, don't dance, don't go fishing on Sunday morning, Sing but don't shout, our services are joyless and the Sunday morning sermons are boring. Yet, I believe the Baptist Doctrine. Some religions go to the extreme in the practice of their faith. Thank God we Baptist don't handle snakes! Not all Baptist churches are like the one I once was a member of. The Pastors father was a Pentecostal while he was a Baptist Minister. The son was every strict in his own beliefs. He would not marry anyone who had been devoiced and a devoiced man could not be a deacon in the church. He and I had a fallen out because he would not marry my daughter because she was living with her boyfriend. True, my daughter was living in sin but wouldn't the two of them being married bring them out of sin? I had moved away so I could not confront the pastor at the time. Anyway, by moving away I have learned that not all Baptist churches are the same. By the way, I don't drank by choice but I have had wine with a dinner.

I have learned over the years that a lot of denominations are off on some of what they preach.
When we actually study the Bible we will know what it says, but we have to study and not just read it once.
I like Chuck Swindoll when he says "If I say something that disagrees with the Bible I am wrong".

When I post an item here, it is briefly posted on the "new items" section. It then quickly disappears from the "Chit-Chat" and all other sections, never to be seen again. No response from the Admin.
To try to 'dictate' how someone is to serve God, is not only futile, but is a form of bullying.
You want 'more emotions', but try not to express Joy? Huh?
I musta missed the parts where you were attacked for your beliefs.
Whether you are a Christian, or not...it shows!
When I state by personal beliefs, do you really regard that as "forcing my beliefs on others"?
No one is suggesting that we "think like our enemy", but instead to know how he operates, so we can recognize his ploys and tricks. If we expect Satan to only appear as all dressed in red, long pointed tail, horns and a pitchfork, then when he comes along looking like a good-looking Barmaid...or a Lawyer...or as a Tax-Man...then we're in for a bunch of "Gotchas"

Christ said it doesn't matter what you put into your mouth that defiles you, rather it's what comes out of your mouth
(or computer).
