"Oklahoma Republican Sen. Tom Coburn criticized Texas’ Sen. Ted Cruz for misleading the American people over Obamacare."

“This is not a situation where you dig your heels in and Obamacare gets defunded,” - Senator Ron Johnson, Republican of Wisconsin

"“Do I think this has been a constructive process? Not particularly.” - Senator Bob Corker, Republican of Tennessee

THIS is what's killing the Republican party. Nonsense and hyperbole from self serving idiots like Mr. Cruz.
I'm not a Republican but I sincerely hope the Republicans can reconstruct their party into the stronger, sensible and reasonable party it used to be not so long ago. It's time for Republicans to get rid of these time and tax wasting tea party clowns that are tearing at the fabric of what was once a truly Grand Old Party.

It is not what is killing the Republican party. The Washington elite old-guard Republicans who are completely deaf to the needs of their constituents are the ones killing the party.

Yes indeed, I need a Democrat to tell me what the Republicans need to be "reasonable"!

I'm a Conservative Republican, heavy on Conservative, and Cruz doesn't bother me a bit. I agree that the Republican Establishment in Washington has a hearing problem when it comes to listening to constituents. I hope Mr. Cruz will be joined by others after the 2014 elections who think in a similar way. There is a lot of dead-wood in the party that needs to go.

The only part of Ambrose's dialog that I can agree with is that there are several Republicans in the Senate that their constituents need to retire starting with McCain, Colburn, Corker, our two from Maryland, and all the others whose principles and backbones have less rigidity than a rubber band. The only interest they seem ti serve is to get reelected long after they have stopped representing their electorate. To be fair the same thing applies to a lot of Democratic Senators and many Representatives from both parties in the House.

Just so that there is no misunderstanding of my politics: I was born Conservative & Republican. have developed into a Constitutionalist, and have been voting against Democrats for 50+ years. Unfortunately, politicians, especially at the National level, have degraded their "profession" with their intransigence and refusal to negotiate, or even deliberate, to such a level that only about 17% of the Citizens think they are doing a good job! In the "real world" such lousy performance would get them fired. We all ought to consider that next November!

Good thing this is a non-photography forum!

The republican party has been dead. They died when they made the decision to be the "democrat LITE" party.

Might as well put the republican symbol in a box and throw dirt on it.

Cruz and the conservatives are all that can save what was the republican party. For my part the party deserted me when they turned left.

RINO's killed the republicans, McCain, Snowe and their ilk that rubber stamp BHO failed economic policy, drove the nails in the coffin.

Defunding ObamaSCARE will save this nation. We have seen what Obama and the radical left statists do when they implement their policies.
Record unemployment, economy in the abyss. War on energy. Racial divide heading back to Selma 1965.

HOPE? CHANGE? How is it this president will talk to Iran, and the murdering muslim mullas and the man hasn't the courage to talk to American leaders on the center and right?

Failed policy after failed policy, disaster follows this president like vultures follow the scent of death.

Trillions thrown down the rat hole in "stimulous" "Shpvel ready jobs" all turn out to be liberal slush funds to make BHO's friends and supports rich.

We could use MORE Cruz's.

I do note that you failed to make one cogent argument about Cruz, simply to disparage the man.

To me that simply demonstrates what democrats fear.

Cruz is a hero to stand up againt the status quo.

When is gthe last time Pelosi, Reid, Obama, anything named Clinton STOOD UP and fought for America?
( trick question, it is not in them)
Democrat line PARTY FIRST.

6 out of 10 Americans DO NOT WANT this obamascare nonsense.

DEFEAT Obama care, America can not afford this travesty.
DEFEAT Obama, America can not afford this run away spending on useless projects.
OBAMA PHONES? really? BILLIONS pissed away for no reason. CONDOMS for MEXICO?

Putin bitch slapping Obama around like the school yard sissy he is, in full view of the world.

Obama has never been up to the job, He has even less credibility on the world stage to day than ever before.

Obama is weak with no possibility of ever being seen as a leader.
Tank about EMBARRAASEMENT to America? Obama OWN that title.

Iraq policy FAILED Afghanistan FAILED, Benghazi FAILED Arab Spring FAILED, Fast and Furious FAILED IRs scandal FAILED, NSA Spying FAILED. Economic policy FAILED
85 BILLION a month we do not have to buy bonds to prop the market FAILED.

This president is less competent than Jimma Carter ( who was a failure as well)

Sadly I agree, I would love to vote FOR candidates. The reality is I vote to keep the worst reprobates out.
I voted FOR Reagan, I voted FOR Nixon.

The grass roots are growing and spreading, Conservatism is taking root to combat the left wing barking moon bats ( Pelosi, reid, boxer, BHO et al.)

What scares me is that even those who go against their constituents wishes, continue to get voted back into that position. This shows that people are not actually saying what they believe OR they are not getting out to vote OR they are just stupid and deserve what they get.

To get America out of the mess she's in is going to involve some pain and some sacrifice and we all know it. The problem is we're all trying to figure out a way for the other guy to suffer so we can escape. Those politicians who can make dung smell like roses are the ones who are getting elected. Those who stand up and tell the truth are shunned like the plague.

I say, let Obama Care go through and the American people will see first hand what it will do to this Country.

If that's to be the course they take, they better not delay the personal mandate a year because if they do, the public who are subject to getting whacked with the increased costs, won't feel the pain until after elections. By then they will have re-elected the idiots and have no recourse.

One concern I have about this Unaffordable Health Plan is for the young and upcoming middle class; with only one or two part time jobs and those probably in the "under employed" category--a graduate engineer flipping hamburgers, for example, how will they be able to pay the health insurance premiums & save for retirement? If they are only working part time, the employer doesn't have to offer health plans or contribute to 401K plans? Defined benefit pensions are long gone, and Social Security benefits will surely be cut or gone. Will they ever be able to have families and fund their retirement, or will this country become a "work until you drop" society again ?

I've never heard the press, commentators, economists, union leaders, politicians or our useless, non-leader (even from behind) president--he doesn't deserve a capital "P"--even mention this disaster

I do have one question: If Obamacare is going to be such a huge failure, why does Cruz want to stop it. If he lets it get implemented and then it fails it would help him in his bid for President.
What I believe is going on is that Cruz is actually afraid that it will succeed and he wants to stop it before it becomes accepted and liked by the populace.

It is sad that the Republican party does not say" Lets improve on Obama care because we have a better idea".
It would make them look a lot better.

It has been said before but this was never about Health Care, but control of 1/6 of the economy, the new tax money it will bring in and gaining access to what should be private health information. And you thought you had a potential of your computer being hacked now; just wait and see!

The problem is in the way it was pitched to the populace. There never was a health care problem in this country; we had the best health care in the world available to everyone; even the destitute, illegal immigrants & people who thought they didn't need (or didn't want to pay for) Health Insurance had legal access, all they had to do was to present themselves at any hospital and they would be treated, generally in the order of the seriousness of their problem. The care was free to them, paid for by a 9% tax on all health insurance premiums.

What's changed is now that the Government will "in the way"; think of necessary treatment & drugs allocated by cost. For the elderly & seriously sick, think Death Panels populated by political appointees without any medical training--a FUBAR in the making!
