When the temperature is below Minus 26 degrees, & you throw boiling water into the air, It freezes into cloud particles instantly. Hard to imagine that cold.
This is one of the antics my mate gets up to in Antarctica.
He's the nut in shorts & said the wind chill factor gave a temp of -46. Brrrr.
#2 is self explanatory. Ice Berg with hole.
#3 Nature happening before their eyes. Like climbing a tree till the lions go away.

Wonderful pictures!! I can stand more cold than heat but even I'm not crazy enough to wear shorts in -46!!!!!

I bet he wasn't out in it for very long.
As another antic & seemingly a mid winter tradition there is a swim in the icy water. It's part of their mid winter celebrations. I'll post some pics soon.

Fantastic photos. I understand this kind of cold will bring back to life dead gray cells and freeze sperm without the help of liquid nitrogen.

In that climate it would be difficult to coax the sperm out.
