I saw him live many years ago, and he was just as clean mouthed in person (College Campus) as on the TV...
Here is one you might like..
The little boy comes home and asks his father where did I come from
Dad figures it is that time, and explains in great and vivid detail exactly how that happened.
The little boy, looks at him quizzically and says..."Well, that's all good and well, but Johnny comes from Cleveland
and I just wanted to know where I came from.

Sounds like the Cos.
That was great.
The first time I heard Bill Cosby
was on his vinyl LP titled; "Why Is There Air?
He answered that philosophical question with:
To blow up volley balls! To blow up basket balls!
Him and Bob Hope cracked me up.

Forgot Red Skelton! Another great one.
Hope, Cos and the Great Red Skelton what a fantastic night of comedy that could have been. All where great Humanitarians. I met Red Skeleton while on a business trip in Lafayette, Indiana at a Holiday Inn early 1980's (can't recall the specific date now...too long ago). I was the only person in the pool area that evening when he came strolling in with another gentleman that I later was told was his body guard. I smiled at him and he motioned for me to join him at his table. We chatted for almost three hours that night and he insisted on paying for our drinks. I knew he was born in southwestern Indiana in Vincennes and told him my dad was born there to. When I told him my last name, he said he went to school with a young lad that had the same last name. And he told me this young lads first name. I couldn't believe it as it turned out to be my grandfather. Red and I enjoyed each others company and that guy could tell you one joke after another to keep you in stitches. We ended our evening with a gentlemen's handshake and he gave me his autograph. He told me the reason he was in town was for the Purdue Homecoming game and he was to be the Honorary Chairman. Later when I returned home, I called my dad to share this story with him and my dad told me that was his dad that was in school with Mr. Skeleton...may he rest in peace...
