In writing a post here, sometimes I want to use Italics to emphasize a word or phrase. I've found that little smiley-face box over to the left, and under it are "Tags" where we supposedly are able to underline, italicize, Boldify (?)...
but for the life of me, I can't figure out how it works.
Somebody please help me, gimmee step-by-step steps, and please make it simple...like me.
Thanks

Italicization Procedure...Is this a special indoctrination procedure for immigrants to Italy? What, Italian first?

open bracket [ the letter i ] closed bracket - text you want in italics - open bracket [ /the letter i ] closed bracket

See example here.

It goes like this for italic. on your keyboard press the [ key then the i key then the end ]. Type your word or words then press the [ again with the / key, the letter i and the ]. there you have it. For smiley face double click the one you want.

Occasionally, even when you do the [ i] text keystrokes, the text will still not be italicized in the post. I've encountered this a few times, and finally just given up and left it in the normal font. It seems to just be an occasional quirk in the website program.

Using the [ squared brackets of and the first bracket makes anything following it in italics. The last bracket [/] stops the talics. There cannot be any spaces within the bracket

I used the first bracket and then the last

Just in case anyone doesn't have square brackets on their keyboard, ALT + 91 = [ and ALT+93 = ]
