Scary Example of Obamacare

Obamacare TRIPLES Family's Health Insurance Premiums Overnight

In a foreshadowing of what is to come in just a matter of days, a Kentucky family’s health insurance premiums tripled overnight. The insurance company sending out the letter to the distraught couple, Andy and Amy Mangione of Louisville, Kentucky, made it clear that the premium increase was due to Obamacare.

Andy and Amy Mangione of Louisville, Ky. and their two boys are just the kind of people who should be helped by ObamaCare. But they recently got a nasty surprise in the mail.

“When I saw the letter when I came home from work,” Andy said, describing the large red wording on the envelope from his insurance carrier, “(it said) ‘your action required, benefit changes, act now.’ Of course I opened it immediately.”

It had stunning news. Insurance for the Mangiones and their two boys, which they bought on the individual market, was going to almost triple in 2014 — from $333 a month to $965.

The insurance carrier made it clear the increase was in order to be compliant with the new health care law.

“This isn’t a Cadillac plan, this isn’t even a silver plan,” Mangione said, referring to higher levels of coverage under ObamaCare.

“This is a high deductible plan where I’m assuming a lot of risk for my health insurance for my family. And nothing has changed, our boys are healthy– they’re young –my wife is healthy. I’m healthy, nothing in our medical history has changed to warrant a tripling of our premiums.

This would be the same Obamacare that was supposed to lower people’s premiums, right? That can’t be true, because the president promised the American people repeatedly that healthcare reform would lower them by $2500 a year. So either he doesn’t know what he’s doing, or this was the intention all along. Let’s leave that conclusion up to the reader.

Obamacare TRIPLES Family's Health Insurance Premiu... (show quote)

Here's a reasonable idea but since the Republican Party has lost all sense of reason it falls on deaf ears....

Klein might be right. We shall see won't we? Still doesn't the fact that costs have increased under Obamacare.

If this story is true, I think this family got bamboozled by their insurance company. My rates certainly aren't going up but actually down. They need to switch insurance companies!

I have an example of how Obama"s plan affects me. This is for all you Dems who think it will be a great thing. It will affect you, then we will see how you like it.

I have a family of three. My wife & I both work. She lost her job about 2.5 years ago that paid double what she makes now + had benifits. She works 32 hours max per week but usualy less.

Combined we make $52,000.00 a year. 52 thousand a year is not setting the world on fire. We still have the same monthly bills that we had 3 years ago but now live check to check to make payments. We are up to date on all payments ( house etc).

Now the government is coming into my house & telling me what I can afford. Funny thing, we are running our house ok, but were not 15 trillion in dept! We don't take vacations, we don't eat out. We just pay our bills & try to help our daughter in 1st year of a comunity college some. Somehow they are telling me I have to come up with $500.00 a month for the less expensive plan. Can't get blood out of a turnip so am I supposed to pull the money out of my &*$?

It I don't pay my car insurance & house Ins etc & a few other payments then I can afford abama's plan. So now they will take a dollar amount from me for a not being able to afford THEIR program. Well if I don't have car insurance I can't drive legally which means I can't work & contribute to socity & of course pay tax's so the government can waste 50% of what they take in. So I guess I would be better off letting the government take care of me?

You tell me out there how great the government will be running healthcare.

So my question to the dems, should I quit work & let the government take care of me.

That a family of four could get any insurance for $333 a month was doubtful if not laughable. I pay $600 per month for a high-deductible plan and my employer still pays some of my premium!

If this is true, we can blame much of this on employers. They are reducing hours in order to avoid providing medical insurance which puts added pressure (cost) on those companies and individuals who must comply next year by continuing or adding benefit plans. I think we should run our personal budgets like the U.S. postal service. Run a deficit and let the federal government subsidize us just like they do for USPS. Pretty good deal considering USPS technically not a government entity any more.

Your graphic spells out exactly why the special swat team was ordered to stand down rather than interceded in the navy yard shooting when they were only moments away.. The nut cases play into your sides hand so they let it play out for maximum effect. Our loving liberal government protecting us.

I heard a show that explained the overwhelmingly unpopularity of Obamacare by comparing it to how unpopular Social Security was when it was introduced. I thought it a laughable contrast and better to illustrate exactly WHY it was unpopular... it won't work. See what the GOVERNMENT has done to that program? I fully expect to see none of what I have paid in.. and bemoan how well I would have done if I put the very same money into a private investment account.

How a health program that seeks to serve millions more then at the moment, without adding a single doctor, cheaper, from a government that is broke- paid for on the backs of people already under great financial strain is beyond me ... Do you believe in fairy tales?

A doctor I know well took a job at a college because the computer records aspect of Obabacare was simply taking up 3/4 of her time. She could not type fast enough nor ask questions quick enough nor spend enough time to actually practice medicine to meet her daily minimum quota.

The best thing Obamacare will be able to do is collect the tax for it. They are hiring IRS agents now to make sure they do and teaching them how to polish their boots. They will need a name for the new IRS as Gestapo has already been used.

You have not paid your affordable health care tax!!!

The yesterday's Page 1 Story in the Palm Beach Post was, Local Obamacare rates beat forecast "A family of 4 in West Palm Beach earning $50,000 a year could pay as little as $18 a month for health insurance come January under Obamacare.
The Dept of Health and Human Services released the first glimpse into insurance costs by community Tuesday, days before Americans will be able to sign up for plans under the controversial law.
Six in 10 consumers will be able to buy health coverage come Oct 1, for less than $100 a month ..."

Not just the Palm Beach Post, but other newspaper headlines are saying the similar things.

You know the easy thing to do is send the insurance bill to Nancy Pelosi and then she will know what is in the bill. Or just send it to the President because he can afford to pay since he only uses TAX DOLLARS to live on so he should have plenty from his book deals and salary. ;)
